Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland have formally declared an interest in hosting Euro 2020.
Ahead of a midnight deadline, they have told Uefa that they would be interested in bidding to host the European Championships on a three-way basis.
Until now, Turkey were the only nation expected to bid.
But it appears that European football's governing body itself encouraged the joint bid from the Celtic nations, while Georgia have also now declared.
Turkey's bid is in some disarray already because its FA has been engulfed by allegations of corruption and match-fixing in domestic football, while it also conflicts with Istanbul's bid to land the Olympics in the same year.
Earth is a planet in crisis with wildlife populations declining by more than 30% in the past four decades, conservationists claim.

A new report examined how more than 9,000 populations of mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians and fish are faring.
It comes in the face of record over-consumption of natural resources with serious implications for human health, wealth and well-being.
Freshwater creatures in the tropics have seen the worst declines, of around 70%, while tropical species as a whole have seen populations tumble by 60% since 1970.
In Asia, tiger numbers have fallen 70% in just 30 years.
Wildlife is under pressure from ever-growing human demand for resources, the study by WWF, the latest Living Planet report from the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) and the Global Footprint Network said.
And research into demand for water revealed 2.7bn people live in areas that suffer severe water shortages for at least one month of the year.
A so-called super moon has lit up the long weekend night sky, bringing a lunar spectacle for amateur and professional astronomers alike.

Super moons happen when the satellite's closest approach to the Earth during its orbit - known as perigee - coincides with a full moon.
The "perigee moon", as it is known scientifically, is as much as 14% bigger and 30% brighter than other full moons this year, says Nasa Science.
During Sunday's perigee - the closest point of orbit - the moon was calculated to be 221,801 miles from Earth minutes after the official full moon phase at 4.35am BST.

BBC

Looked very bright the night :mg:

The 43-year-old, who looked out of sorts against Maguire in a one-sided World Championship quarter-final, said he made the decision three months ago.
He said: "There's a few reasons - the schedule, the fact I'm not playing the snooker I want to play, and the fact I'm not enjoying practice.
"It was quite an easy decision."

BBC

Never thought he was gonna retire. He got a 147 only recently.
